AMS of Maryland is one of the largest commercial HVAC service and construction companies in the greater D.C. metropolitan area. The Company currently employs approximately 105 persons, most of whom are engaged in field work, performing services directly for customers. AMS of Maryland is a signatory to a trade agreement with United Association of Steamfitters Local 602, and the Company draws its technicians from the 602’s skilled labor pool. As a signatory to the labor agreement, the Company is able to multiply its forces quickly as circumstances demand. Additionally, the AMS of Maryland operations are supported by a parent company, which provides a number of shared services, such as Human Resources, Risk Management and Accounting. The Company is also a member of an affiliated group of ten companies which are able to provide resources and expertise to AMS of Maryland on an as-needed basis.
AMS employees remain current in developing HVAC technology, equipment, processes, and safety through a variety of sources, including training in-house, through UA Local 602 and through vendors. Several persons on the AMS management team are instructors at the UA trade school.
